Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary – Kielce

This church in Kielce was built in 1947, designed by Stanisław Skibniewski, using materials from dismantled POW barracks. It was erected to meet the urgent need for a new place of worship for the local parish community. It is a rare and intriguing example of post-war wooden modernism.

Church of St. Stephen – Mnichów

The wooden Church of St. Stephen in Mnichów is one of the finest examples of wooden Baroque architecture in Poland. Likely built between 1754 and 1770 by an unknown craftsman, it features a Latin cross floor plan with an octagonal dome and delicate sculptural decoration. The entire interior – altars, pulpit, confessionals – forms a harmonious Rococo ensemble made of larch and linden wood.

Chapel of the Holy Spirit – Mount Witosławska

The wooden Chapel of the Holy Spirit on Mount Witosławska has a long, layered history – from ancient pagan rituals, through Benedictine monastic presence, to the legend of the hermit Jaczewicz in the 18th century. The current structure dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries, and its charm is enhanced by its picturesque forest surroundings. Recently restored, the chapel remains a place of silence and spiritual reflection.
